At last the renovation is complete and this has turned into a little beauty of a cottage.  From the blonde pine floors to the beadboard bathrooms and new covered deck, 'Fox Paws' has been turned upside down by our wonderful carpenters Sam & Bill.

We painted it all white upstairs:  the massive beams and tongue and groove ceilings, too.  It's light and bright and a fantastic choice for guests that want to linger in Blowing Rock for months at a time.  Sooo livable... Fox Paws provides the perfect balance of cozy warmth, open spaces, and nooks to get away for a little privacy. 

Nothing fancy here, but mighty bright and clean with a real rustic charm and dare we say, a little flash of style.  Married couples; Spread out a bit between the massive four poster king bed and double sinks in the master.  Cozy types can take the romantic upstairs bedroom where the fresh wind and whispering pines will remind you of why our village is called Blowing Rock.

Our favorite feature is the little bathroom upstairs, with its lovely antique clawfoot tub.  What a wonderful spot to recover from long hikes with a long hot soak, a glass of wine, and a great book.  

You bring the wine, we'll supply the books.  Mysteries, classics, best sellers, our shelves runneth over.  For you less literate types, we've grudgingly provided several TV's, a VCR, a DVD player, and movies.  And ESPN junkies, there's a leather recliner parked right in front of the TV with you in mind.

Located 4 miles from Main Street, Blowing Rock in Misty Mountain, Fox Paws boasts terrific winter views of Sunsets over Grandfather Mountain and clouds rising up over the Gorge.  A finger of Pisgah National Forest stretches up into the neighborhood via an old logging road, and canoeing at Price Lake is a 3 mile walk from the door.  This is a fantastic location--close to shopping, hiking, golfing, and dining.

Big groups might want to note that 'Fox Paws' is right next door to 'On the Rocks' and a hop, skip and a jump from 'Cloudcroft.'  We've teamed up with some neighbors, too, so you might consider booking several houses on the same street for multi-family vacations.  Call for more info.
