On The Rocks
Built on a natural rock outcropping, “On The Rocks” is located 4 miles from Main Street, Blowing Rock.
Pisgah National Forest is a short stroll away, so many of North Carolina’s more wild citizens visit the backyard. You are sure to see wild turkeys and deer on quiet mornings, and jewel-throated hummingbirds hover over feeders on the back deck most summer days from April to October.
Rustic and charming, “On The Rocks” embodies
the welcoming spirit of the mountains. Wood paneling, exposed beams, a
two-story rock fireplace, open decks and cozy quilts await you. Wherever
possible, we’ve brought nature inside, to compliment the lovely surroundings
outside.
Audubon prints, fine pottery and primitives punctuate the scene, but you
may be too busy enjoying a good book or video from our overflowing shelves
to notice much more than the awesome, rolling blue mountains right outside
your window.
Horseback riding, fine dining, golf, outlet shopping, fly fishing, hiking and so much more are all within a 10 mile radius of “On The Rocks,” making it a perfect place to throw open the doors, make yourself at home, and enjoy the cool breezes of the Blue Ridge.
For winter visitors, ALL area ski slopes are within a 20 – 40 minute driving range. Caving, cross country skiing (on the Blue Ridge Parkway!), hiking, snow tubing, and sledding are all wonderful possibilities. You bring the hot chocolate, we’ll provide the fire and maps.
